Spring Garden Wreck Ejects One

Philadelphia police were called to the scene of a recent accident involving an SUV that slammed into the back of another vehicle and hit the sidewalk. The incident occurred in Spring Garden, at the intersection of Broad and Green streets, around 11:30 p.m. There is limited insight into what caused the driver to fail to stop.

However, when the driver hit the other vehicle, that driver was ejected from the car. That party was listed in critical condition at the local hospital. The other driver also suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital. That second driver is expected to recover, though no immediate word on their condition was provided.

Finding out what happened could be a priority for the victim of a car accident like this. A vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed when striking another may cause serious and threatening injuries. Understanding the details of the case could help police assign fault better. For example, the driver may have been texting or otherwise distracted at the time of the accident. Impairment, falling asleep at the wheel, or other unknown factors may have contributed.
