The New Jersey State Police reports that the 911 came around 6:30 PM on Friday, June 14th. There was a report of a bicycle accident with a car on Route 38 in Southampton near mile marker 19.1. A 14-year-old boy was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the westbound lanes.
An initial and preliminary investigation found that the boy was struck by the vehicle when he was trying to cross the highway. No information was released about the vehicle involved or the driver. The boy suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police also did not say whether or not the driver of the vehicle involved would be charged in the crash.
