Potholes Leave Drivers Stranded on Route 30 Bypass

Drivers in Coatesville, PA, were faced with numerous risks to their vehicles driving along Route 30 Bypass in Chester County. It was not other drivers or bad weather, but instead potholes, some of which were so significant that they caused several vehicles to break down, increasing the risk for accidents.

One driver reported that they and three other vehicles were disabled and waiting for a tow truck at the same point. The area in question is a 5-mile stretch that leads from Airport Road to State Route 82.

The risk of breakdowns is significant in situations like this, which can increase the risk of car accidents. Drivers suffering serious damage to their vehicles may also want to hold the city or the responsible party for that road accountable for those losses. Each case is unique, but seeking legal action could be warranted for people with significant property damage.

Filing an Accident Claim is an Option

According to reports, PennDOT crew members were recently seen working on repairs to those potholes. However, according to one driver, the damage was significant enough to cause $2000 worth of damage to the vehicle. That driver expects the state to pay for the losses due to their failure to maintain safe driving conditions and prevent road hazards.

At Kwartler Manus, our car accident attorneys represent victims of all sorts of losses caused by the negligence of other drivers and even the city. If someone caused your injuries, call our office today for a free consultation.
