Patrol Car Hit with Officer Inside

The accident occurred at 5th and Callowhill Street, which is in the Spring Garden area of the city. The officer’s marked patrol car collided with a GMC SUV, causing enough impact for both vehicles to end up on the sidewalk. It was unclear at the time of the report if the police officer had activated the lights and siren on the car at the time of the accident. That could play a significant role in determining fault. No other information was provided at the time of the news release about the cause of the accident or who struck whom.
