According to the initial investigation and news report, Unit #1 of the Philadelphia Fire Department Ladder was traveling west on Lehigh Avenue, responding to a call for help. At that time, unit #2 was traveling north on Sedgley Avenue. This car’s driver cut in front of Unit #1. This created a serious collision between the two vehicles. Unit #2 struck a parked, unattended vehicle (called Unit #3). The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Temple Hospital. That person, a 29-year-old male, was in critical condition at the time of the accident.
