A car accident occurred around 8:32 p.m. in Chesterfield Township, NJ. According to police dispatch, several calls were received by 911 reporting the accident that occurred near the 56.3 mile post on the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident resulted in six people going to area hospitals for medical care.

Six People Go to the Hospital After Car Accident
According to the New Jersey State Police and Fire Department from Bordentown Township, the accident occurred about 2.5 miles to the north of Exit 7 and 4 miles to the south of Exit 7A. The incident involved multiple vehicles and a report that at least one person was trapped in the vehicle. Police arrived at the scene, and EMS crews were able to extract the victims. Six people were then transported to the hospital. No information on the cause of the accident or how many vehicles were involved was initially provided. The roadway was shut down for an hour during the investigation and cleanup efforts.
