Truck Driver Trying to Make a Turn Struck the Rider
Data from the Monroe Township Police indicates that a 20-year-old riging a motorcycle on Route 42 heading north collided with a pickup truck that was traveling southbound. That truck driver was trying to make a left hand turn from the left turn lane onto Prosser Avenue. As that turn happened, the motorcycle struck the left side of the pickup truck. The force involved caused the truck to roll over onto its roof just off the side of the roadway.
The motorcycle rider from Williamstown died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the truck, a 71-year-old man, had minor injuries in the accident. At the time of news releases, no charges had been filed in the case. The investigation was continuing.
