Details About the Motorcyclist Injured
According to police, emergency personnel were dispatched around 8:22 AM Monday morning for the report of a three-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. The accident was reported on the White Horse Pike in the area of Laurel Road.
The investigation found that a 1995 Jeep Cherokee was in the curb lane of the highway when it struck a motorcycle sitting stopped in the intersection due to traffic. The rider was thrown from the bike and landed on the White Horse Pike.
Police said that the Cherokee traveled an additional 250 feet, dragging the motorcycle before hitting a pole. When the initial impact occurred the motorcycle hit a third vehicle that was also sitting in stopped traffic.
The driver of the Cherokee was taken to Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden and was admitted for care. The motorcyclist was taken to Jefferson Stratford Hospital, treated, and released. The third driver was evaluated by EMTs at the scene. The roadway was closed for at least two hours while the Stratford police and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office’s Crash Investigation Team conducted their investigation.
