A crash in Kensington late on a Friday evening left the motorcyclist battling for their life, according to police reports. The rider was hit by a vehicle while traveling through a red light. Though police are still working to understand what caused the accident and who was at fault, the 25-year-old motorcycle operator suffered head injuries in the accident.

Data Shows the Motorcycle Rider Ran a Red Light
According to the police officers reporting the accident, it occurred at the intersection of Kensington Avenue and Cumberland Street. The motorcycle rider was traveling south on Kensington Avenue at the time of the accident. That rider ran the red light at Cumberland Street. As they did so, a Nissan that was traveling from the east struck the motorcycle rider. The Nissan kept driving. Police were continuing to seek to identify the Nissan vehicle.
The motorcycle rider was taken to Temple University Hospital and was in critical condition at the last report. Police said they are looking for a silver vehicle that has tinted windows and a sunroof that could have been involved in the hit-and-run accident with the motorcycle rider.
