Tractor Trailer Accident Leads to Injuries

The incident occurred in the westbound lanes of I-295, close to the East Lincoln Highway interchange in Middletown Township. The Jeep was driving westbound on I-295 when it quickly switched lanes in front of a 2020 Volvo VNX 880 tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer collided with the Jeep’s back, causing both vehicles to swerve onto the highway shoulder.

The three people in the Jeep suffered non-life-threatening head injuries. They were taken to St. Mary Medical Center for observation and treatment. The tractor-trailer driver did not suffer any injuries in this accident and did not require any medical care. Using the evidence from the scene of the accident, police determined that the Jeep’s driver was responsible for the accident. That driver will receive a citation for improper land changes.

A full investigation into what occurred may be critical for others involved. If the Jeep driver feels they were not responsible, they may seek legal representation to determine whether the tractor-trailer driver was. If the passengers in the vehicle suffered injury, they might also be able to pursue compensation from the at-fault party for their losses.
