The accident happened at East Snyder and 4th Street, right in front of the fire station. The driver was speeding as they ran the right light and, nearly immediately after doing so, hit the pedestrian. It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day.

The families of victims of hit-and-run accidents that result in fatalities may find themselves unsure of what legal rights they have. Finding the driver is often the priority, but seeking fair treatment and compensation could also be critical. Hiring a Philadelphia car accident attorney could be critical in a case like this.

Surveillance Video Captured the Accident

Police reported that surveillance video provides insight into what occurred. It shows the man crossing East Moyamensing Avenue wrapped in a blanket. The driver is seen running the red light and striking the man. The driver is seen from another angle, leaving the accident after the impact occurs. Witnesses watched the entire incident happen. Police have pieces of the hit-and-run driver’s vehicle and numerous witness statements to lead their investigation.
