The Dangers of Head-On Crashes
As previously mentioned, the Atlantic County crash was a head-on collision. These are some of the most dangerous types of car accidents. You can be a very good defensive driver, but anticipating a head-on collision be nearly impossible.
Head-on accidents are almost always deadly. The reaction time in such a crash is almost zero, preventing you from making an evasive maneuver to protect yourself and your passengers. Even if you are able to adjust your vehicle’s positioning, a collision is still likely to occur, it just might be less impactful.
According to data from the Insurance Information Institute, head-on crashes accounted for more than 10 percent of all traffic fatalities in 2020. There were 3,631 deaths nationwide in 2020 due to head-on collisions. Talk to a car accident attorney today about your case.
