I-95 Truck Accident Closes Highway for Hours

A truck accident on Interstate 95 shut down the freeway for several hours. The details of the accident were limited, but a helicopter flying overhead found that a tractor-trailer had overturned and lay across several lanes of traffic. The incident took place in Upper Chichester Township in Delaware County at around 1 p.m. For unknown reasons, the truck had overturned between Exit 3 (US-322) and Exit 2 (PA-452).

Though the images from the scene look worrisome, police or others at the scene provided little information about what caused the truck to overturn. Numerous factors may have contributed to the situation, including driver distraction, violations of federal regulations such as hours of service, or impairment. The driver may have lost control due to a mechanical failure or because the cargo in the back became unstable.

Your Attorney Fights for Your Rights

For victims in an accident it is good to know that police will investigate what took place. However, if you believe what was provided was not the full story or there are factors that are incorrect, having your own attorney review your case is often a smart move.

In this particular accident, the cause of the collision was unknown. The truck’s fuel tank leaking, and the driver’s condition was not disclosed to the public.
