The passenger of a vehicle involved in an accident died on Thursday, March 14th, in a Somerdale fatal crash. New Jersey State Police reported the crash at White Horse Pike and Cedar Avenue in Somerdale Borough. The accident occurred shortly before midnight on Thursday night, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. The driver of a vehicle traveling westbound on the White Horse Pike when his vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck a vehicle traveling eastbound. Officers determined that the driver of the striking vehicle was under the influence at the time of the crash.

A passenger in the vehicle that was struck by the drunk driver died as a result of the crash. The driver of that vehicle was also critically injured. Three other people in that vehicle also suffered injuries but are expected to recover.

This accident is the 10th fatal crash in Camden County so far in 2024. Anyone who witnessed the crash has been asked to contact either the Somerdale Police Department or the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
